Response To William Henry Fox Talbot

In this work the image is in focus and the glass can be clearly seen through the dark background. There are some white spots on the photograph, which usually means dust spots on the camera. Although the photo can look as if it was overexposed, the fact that the glass is so clear and shines almost balances it out. The main concept here is black and white, based on the main objects in the image, there doesn't really need to be various colors.

The vertical lines of the shelves themselves makes the image seem as though it was taken from a slight angle or that the shelves were angled, but the simple symmetry of the glassware, where each object is aligned above one another and alternates large and smaller items evens it out.
Being a picture about glass the image doesn't have a dramatic "wow" effect. Some light had to be evident to see the glass, so the way it makes the glass naturally shine provides a cool effect to the photo.
