This image is clear with a lot of shadowing to create multiple shades of gray and give the object a lot of defined detail. Although it seems like there is some light reflection from the top appendages, it still flows well with the image. The use of all the shadowing gives a balanced contrast throughout the image and adding a little life to the image also. If there were no shadowing it'd seem like a flat, uninteresting picture.

The image is centered slightly to the left, but the spiraling design on the floor, more so on the right, keeps the image feel centered, not giving one side too much design over the other. The image itself is unusual because it could represent many things. In one instance, it could be a man with his hands behind his head. In the darkened room and the way he seems curled up could represent the man in turmoil. In another way, it could look like some organs in the body, such as intestines. It could also be a poor representation of two misshaped snakes, whereas the foot looking piece could be a rabbit or a dead bird when looked at separate from the rest of the image.

The strangeness of the object does grab your attention, and the fact that your made to interpret what it could be adds to its interest. The title of the image also provides no help in understanding what it is.
